Wigan's Heskey: Capello doesn't play favourites

Emile Heskey believes England manager Fabio Capello's up front and honest approach is refreshing after showing he does not select on the basis of reputations.

The Wigan striker returned to the England fold last week, playing a vital role in the 4-1 World Cup qualifying victory over Croatia in Zagreb.

Although Capello did not get off to the best of competitive starts with the lethargic 2-0 win over Andorra in Barcelona, the Italian's credibility was restored as England ended Croatia's unbeaten home record.

Heskey certainly feels Capello has so far stamped his mark on the squad, as he said: "He has impressed me. He's been really good.

"He is the kind of coach who will tell you if you've done something wrong, and it doesn't matter who you are."

'Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post, Heskey added: "A lot of managers will pull you to one side to tell you that.

"Capello will tell you in front of everyone, which is fine by me."
