Wigan Athletic striker Henri Camara admits his time on-loan at West Ham last season was a disaster.

"This has been my worst season in England," former Wolves and Southampton striker Camara fumed. "It has been a disastrous year. I have few words to describe what I have been through - I have barely played.

"When I came back from the African Nations Cup, West Ham's manager congratulated me and I thought I would get to play for him. But despite giving my all in training I remained on the bench. I was so frustrated I went to see him and shouted in his face that I was sorry I'd ever joined West Ham and that I wanted to go back to Wigan.

"But it was not possible. He told me he could not change his team as it was doing well, and the last two months of the season have been interminable. Next time I change clubs I will be more careful, talk to the manager and take my time before signing. I did my deal with West Ham just before the transfer window closed.

"I could not understand being left out. I was not injured - I was on top form. The manager has made me lose a lot. I was completely buried underground and other players who I'd meet would ask me whether I was still at West Ham.

"I always got the same questions, and in the end they made me feel ill. I couldn't wait for the season to end so I could go to Senegal. I have to return to Wigan, but I'm looking together with my agent to find another club where I can restore my playing health.

"I have had approaches and Marseille want to sign me. But I don't yet want to return to France, having previously played for Sedan as it is my aim to spend two or three more seasons in England."
