Wigan Athletic defender Titus Bramble admits he stayed too long at Newcastle United.
"After so many years at Ipswich, I saw the resemblance here and that's why I've settled in quicker," Bramble told the Daily Mail. "It was good to make a fresh start. Maybe I stayed at Newcastle a couple of years too long."
"The more games I play, the better the concentration gets. The only way is to play week in, week out and that wasn't the case at Newcastle.
"It was a massive move for me, coming from a small club like Ipswich. The fans up there expect a lot and I was thrown in at the deep end. Maybe some of the people who hadn't seen me play expected bigger things but it didn't happen.
"Newcastle have always been criticised for having a bad back four so it was a no-win situation. At times the criticism was fair and I could deal with it when I made mistakes.
"But sometimes it was somebody else's fault and they still pointed the finger at me. You get used to it."
