Golobart, 20, is well aware that news of his exploits will not be going unnoticed by Roberto Martinez back at Wigan.
"I definitely feel I have a point to prove as far as Wigan are concerned," he told the Wigan Observer.
"I am aware that there are a lot of very good centre-backs ahead of me in the pecking order.
"But I also feel I have a lot of qualities of my own I can bring to the table.
"Wigan Athletic is such a special club - we are one of the only clubs in the Premier League who tries to play the ball from all areas of the field.
"And that's why I want to make sure my future is there."
