Wigan Athletic fear being priced out of a deal for Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez.
The Times says Wigan will renew their search for a new manager after refusing to meet Swansea City's "ridiculous" demand of £4 million compensation for Martínez.
Wigan's interest in Martínez, who has four years left on his contract at Swansea, has not ended, but an agreement would probably depend on the Spaniard persuading the Coca-Cola Championship club to lower their fee.
"He was our No 1 target, but we are not interested at that level," a Wigan source said. "We will now have to look at the names on our list."
