Wigan won't consider selling Heskey

Wigan Athletic won't consider selling England hero Emile Heskey.

Reports claiming Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is keen to bring Heskey to St James' Park to play alongside his England team-mate Michael Owen have been flatly denied with Latics bosses saying it would take a fantastic offer to even force them to consider selling their record £5.5m star striker, says the Manchester Evening News.

Wigan manager Chris Hutchings claimed the 29-year-old's valuation had "gone through the roof" following his successful international recall by England for the European Championship qualifiers with Israel and Russia. Even though the club insist Heskey is not for sale it does seem likely they may have to fend off enquiries when the transfer window reopens.
