Wigan Athletic winger Victor Moses has rejected a new approach from England to turn his back on Nigeria.
The Wigan star played for England at Under-21 level, but has since decided he wants to play for Nigeria, his country of birth.
The 20-year-old was set to make his Super Eagles debut in an African Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia last month, but his change of status did not come through in time.
As Moses hasn't yet played a competitive game for Nigeria, he could still switch back to England.
So Pearce contacted Moses this week to see if he would play at the Euro Under-21 Championship, says the Daily Star.
But Pearce was told Moses remains desperate to play for Nigeria and won't change his mind.
