Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle has made it clear that promising midfielder James McCarthy will only leave for a bigger club in the Premier League.
The 22-year old has been attracting interest from some teams in the top flight following Wigan's relegation to the Championship but Coyle says he will only be offloaded if the right offer comes along.
"It was difficult for James in the summer. His head was all over the place," he told Wigan Today.
"I've said to James that if a Champions League club comes in for him - and he's that good he can play for anyone in that top six - I won't stand in his way.
"But we don't have to sell anybody."
