Wigan watching Sporting Gijon defender Canella

Wigan Athletic are watching Sporting Gijon fullback Roberto Canella.

Cadena SER says Latics boss Roberto Martinez is keen to land the Spain U21 international in January.

Canella rejected an offer from Stoke City last summer.
