Wigan Athletic could trump Newcastle for Porto stopper Martin Cech.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle's proposed £3million move for Porto defender Cech is on hold after the sacking of manager Sam Allardyce.
The impasse may allow Wigan to step in for the 24-year-old Slovakia left back, who can also play centre half or in midfield.
