Wigan target Portsmouth contract rebel Lenny Sowah

Portsmouth teenage defender Lenny Sowah is wanted by Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez.

The Daily Mail says Martinez is hoping to take advantage of Portsmouth's financial crisis by landing teenage full back Sowah.

Germany Under 18 defender Sowah, 17, made five Premier League appearances last season but has failed to report back for training due to a dispute over bonuses he claims he is owed.

Martinez was impressed by Sowah in Wigan's goalless draw with Pompey last season.

Portsmouth would demand a training compensation fee but may only receive £500,000.

The former Arsenal trainee, who may yet switch international allegiance to Ghana like team-mate Kevin- Prince Boateng, is also expected to attract offers from other Premier League sides.
