Wigan Athletic hope to snap up PSV Eindhoven defender Carlos Salcido for £2 million.
The Daily Mail says Latics manager Roberto Martinez has targeted the PSV Eindhoven left back as a possible replacement for Maynor Figueroa, with the Honduran wanted by Liverpool and Stoke City.
Salcido's adviser Lyle Yorks has told PSV technical director Marcel Brands about Wigan's interest in the 30-year-old, who can also play at centre back.
Salcido wants to move after a fall-out with PSV coach Fred Rutten.
