Wigan, Sunderland threaten Celtic hopes for N'Guemo

Wigan Athletic and Sunderland are eyeing Celtic midfielder Landry N'Guemo.

The Cameroon international is on-loan at Celtic from Nancy of France.

Wigan have already contacted Nancy to register an interest in the player who will cost up to £3million in the open market - and Steve Bruce's Sunderland are also keeping tabs on the situation, says the Daily Record.

But 24-year-old Nguemo is keen for Celts to do a deal to keep him now, even though doubts remain over whether or not caretaker boss Neil Lennon will be in charge to play him next term.

Nguemo, who has made 43 starts during his loan spell at Parkhead, said: "I've really settled into life in Scotland and I hope I haven't played my last game for Celtic.

"I want to be here again next season and while there have been some discussions, it hasn't yet been sorted out. I want to play in Scotland and I want to play for Celtic."
