Franco Di Santo feels Wigan Athletic can mix it with the best following their come-from-behind 2-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday.
The Argentine scored the winner in injury-time at the Stadium of Light to move the Latics two points clear of bottom-of-the-table Blackburn Rovers and he now feels that there is enough confidence in the playing group to go head-to-head with Arsenal on Saturday.
"The win will give us a big confidence lift going into the Arsenal game, and we have to try and stay at this level in the coming weeks," Di Santo told Wigan's official website.
"It's important we build on this now and try to get a little run going because December is a very tough month for us and one that will ultimately have a massive say on our ambitions for the rest of the season.
"It felt very good to score the winning goal, but the most important thing was the win and for that we're all very, very happy.
"It was an important goal, but I hope there are a lot of far more important goals to come."
