The 27-year old Argentine forward has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League since arriving at the DW Stadium in 2010 and he is now hoping to revisit the loan he had with Genoa last year if the Latics allow him to.
"Before the start of this season my agent told me that Genoa wanted to take me back but Wigan blocked a sale," Boselli told calciomercato.it.
"I would have liked to go back to Genoa and show my true value, because the first time I had the misfortune to get injured and had little opportunity to impress.
"Other Italian clubs have also asked about me, but Wigan said 'no'.
"It is still my desire to play in Serie A because Italian football is more suited to my characteristics."
