Jonathan Walters has disappointed Premiership clubs by committing to a new four-year contract at Ipswich.
The winger was being tracked by Wigan and Stoke City, but has signed a new deal through to 2012 with the Tractor Boys.
"We're delighted that Jon has agreed to a new contract," manager Jim Magilton told the club's official website.
"There was a lot of speculation about his future during the summer, but we made it clear that we wanted him at this football club.
"There were Premier League clubs showing an interest in him, but we have always seen him as an important part of what we are building here."
