Wigan Athletic captain Mario Melchiot says there's plenty to look forward to under new manager Roberto Martinez.

"We've all seen the way he liked to play and how he wants his teams to play, and it's really positive," Melchiot said. "You can see the enthusiasm he has for the game, and when you get someone who is as hungry as he is it becomes easier to translate down to the players.

"We've got a new man in charge with a totally different view on the game, which I think is exciting. It's always interesting to see what different views people have on the game.

"As soon as we all get an understanding for how he wants us to play we'll be looking at a bright future. You always want to achieve more than you did the previous season and that's definitely one of the things we're going to look forward to."
