Wigan Athletic captain Mario Melchiot insists they won't be sucked into a relegation battle.
Owner Dave Whelan has been scathing about the players this season and the message has got through.
After defeat at old club Birmingham City on Saturday, Melchiot said: "When you are the boss and you own the club you can say what you want because it's your business.
"As an individual working for him you have to listen to him and get on with it. He shows his emotions and that's normal.
"If you score twice away from home then you should be winning. We are disappointed."
