Wigan Athletic captain Gary Caldwell was delighted for Arouna Kone after his goal in victory at Southampton.
Kone, 28, marked his full debut with a goal at Southampton 24 hours after Wigan lost Moses to Chelsea.
Asked about the peroxide blonde striker who wears the unconventional No 2, Caldwell said: "He is going to be a character and that's good. We need people like that at the club. Big personalities to take us forward and build on the momentum we had last year.
"Arouna has scored a lot of goals throughout his career.
"He's had a few bad injuries that have cost him bigger moves and more playing time.
"But we are glad to have him and hopefully that goal will give him confidence."
