South Korea midfielder Cho Won-hee has been granted a UK work permit as he finalises his move to Wigan Athletic. The 25-year-old, who can also play in defence, impressed during a recent trial at The JJB Stadium but has had difficulty attaining a work permit as injuries have restricted recent international appearances.
However, it appears he has now been given the green light and he is expected to fly to England over the weekend.
"The work permit is all but confirmed," he told local press.
"It is being sent to me from the Philippines and I will be able to leave on the 7th.
"I don't know Steve Bruce and the team that well personally, but I'm very excited to be going there.
"At the moment my English needs a bit of work, but I'll be working very hard on my lessons."
