Wigan Athletic are set to snap up Blackpool defender Stephen Crainey.

The People says they are poised to win the chase for Crainey.

Ian Holloway's club thought they could persuade free agent Crainey, 30, to stay as their highest-paid player.

But Roberto Martinez will offer Crainey, who has also talked to Bristol City, a chance to stay in the top flight.
