Wigan set to move for Dindane

Wigan boss Steve Bruce could move for Aruna Dindane in January after the Ivory Coast striker expressed a desire to play in the Premier League.

The Latics chief reportedly thinks Dindane could be the ideal partner for powerhouse frontman Emile Heskey - and with his side Lens only wanting around £5million, he is well within Bruce's January shopping budget.

The 26-year-old has been one of Lens' bright spots in a disappointing season so far and his performances have caught the attention of a host of clubs. Dindane's agent Willie McKay says the player is keen on moving to England and joining Ivory Coast team-mates such as Didier Drogba and Kolo Toure in the Premier League.

"Aruna is considering a move away from Lens in January and he has his heart set on a move to England," he said. "Lens are reluctantly willing to sell him for the right price and there are a lot of clubs interested in him.

"Aruna has scored goals wherever he has been at and I believe he would ideally suited to play in England.

"He is regarded as one of the best players in the Ivory Coast squad and there are a lot of good players in that squad who already play in England."

McKay has warned interested clubs to move quickly for him, as his price tag could soar if he impresses at the tournament in January.

"Aruna will be playing for Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations and if he impresses his price tag could go up and that could prove difficult for some clubs," added McKay.
