Wigan winger Antonio Valencia will remain with the club after Real Madrid withdrew their interest.

Real Madrid sources have revealed how Wigan did not want to let Valencai go on a loan deal so at present and deal has fallen through.

"Wigan rejected the option of a loan and that is the last word on the subject," said the Real source.

"With the [presidential] elections in June, it is better for us to now close the mark following the arrives of Huntelaar and Diarra."
