Former Wigan defender Mario Melchiot will be playing football in Qatar next season. The 33-year-old has signed for Umm Salal having fallen out of contract with the Latics.
The Dutchman, who boasts an impressive playing career at Chelsea, Birmingham and Ajax, has agreed a two year deal with the Arabic club.
