Wigan centre back Titus Bramble is hitting back at the critics who treated him harshly whilst he was with Newcastle United.

Bramble has been in terrific form of late according to Latics boss Steve Bruce and he thinks it's good to see the former Magpie scapegoat enjoying some good form.

"Titus has taken some stick over the years, particularly when he was playing for Newcastle," said Bruce in the Manchester Evening News.

"But he was spot on back there last weekend just as he was against Liverpool and at Portsmouth recently.

"He has been terrific of late and it was great to see him score that header.

"We deserved something from the game."
