Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is weighing up rescuing German Pacheco from Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine striker has endured a difficult 18 months at Atletico, where he saw a loan at Segunda Liga Rayo Vallecano cut short before playing out last season in the Segunda B with Atletico B.

Pacheco, 19, came through the youth system at Velez Sarsfield and moved to Madrid boasting a big reputation.
