Wigan Athletic haven't given up their bid for Zamalek striker Amr Zaki.

The Wigan Evening Post says his proposed year-long loan move appeared to have collapsed last week after Zaki had a bust-up with Zamalek chief Mamdouh Abbas, who said he could not leave the Cairo-based club.

But Latics have kept a dialogue open with Zamalek, who could reconsider their stance.
