Wigan Athletic are anxiously waiting to close a deal for Estudiantes striker Mauro Boselli.
The Wigan Observer says the 25-year-old is Wigan's top transfer target and, despite numerous hold-ups, it's understood the deal is nearing a conclusion.
Latics have had to stave off rival interest from Sunderland and Birmingham, while the waters were muddied by the fact Boselli is part-owned by his old club Boca Juniors - who themselves wanted him back.
Although reports the player's representatives are already in Wigan are premature, it's hoped a deal could be tied up by the end of the week for a fee in the region of £6m.
