Wigan playmaker McArthur happy with chance against Man City

James McArthur was happy to get a chance for Wigan Athletic in defeat to Manchester City.

The Scotland international is committed to producing the same work-rate on and off the field to hold down his place in the team - a decision ultimately down to one man, as the midfielder explained:

He told the Wigan website: "I've worked hard for an opportunity in the team and in the starting line-up, so when I knew I was starting against Man City I was very excited and determined to give a good account of myself.

"I know that to stay in the team I have to keep giving 100% and not come off the pitch feeling as though I could have done more, after that it's the Manager's decision whether or not I'm picked again."
