Wigan Athletic are stepping up their pursuit of Almeria winger Pablo Piatti.

The Mirror says Latics boss Roberto Martinez is trying to land players without selling his best players and hopes to speak to Almeria's Argentinian winger Piatti this week.

Piatti is also being linked with Liverpool.

Almeria will only sell, however, for the right price.
