Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is ready to move for Reading midfielder Stephen Hunt.

The Guardian says Bruce intends to use part of the funds raised from Wilson Palacios' move to Tottenham to bid for Hunt.

The 27-year-old has a £5m release cause in his contract and, although he is not a like-for-like replacement for Palacios, it is understood that Bruce is keen on signing the left-winger.
