Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan was happy with his crisis talks with Roberto Martinez.
Whelan, who labelled the 2-0 home defeat by Swansea the club's worst performance in five years, emerged from talks declaring that Martinez has his full backing.
He said: "We have had a very good meeting.
"I was not aware we had that many players away. I fully accept what he said and I back him fully.
"Roberto was tearing his hair out as we had played so well for the three weeks before that.
"He was really upset with the performance but Swansea didn't have any players away.""He told me that eight players had been away on international duty and that two of them never arrived back until after 7pm on Friday night.
