Wigan Athletic management are delighted with Lee Nicholls' progress on-loan at Northampton.

Keeper coach Mike Pollitt can certainly see the advantages of Nicholls remaining at Sixfields beyond the summer.

"It's been a great move for him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him go out on loan again next year," Pollitt told the Wigan Observer.

"It's pointless him coming back here and not playing.

"Who knows, if Northampton do go up this year they might want him back, which would give him some League One experience."
