Wigan make improved bid for Bolton keeper Al Habsi

Wigan Athletic are not giving up on Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

The Mirror says Wigan are ready to buy loan-star keeper Al Habsi - after making a new and increased £3million offer to neighbours Bolton.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has pledged to land the Oman international, who was a stand-out during a season-long loan spell as he helped Wigan stave off relegation from the Premier League and has now upped his bid in an attempt to seal the deal.

Al Habsi is keen on the move and hopes for permission to seal the transfer over the weekend.
