Wigan Athletic loanee Vladimir Stojkovic is hoping he is offered a permanent deal by the Premier League club.
The 26-year old Serbia international is currently on loan from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon and has appeared five times since he arrived in January. He now wants to extend his loan or pick up a permanent deal to stay at DW Stadium.
"In Serbia there were rumours that I don't want to stay at Wigan, but that is not true," he told Sportski Zurnal.
"My quotes were wrongly translated. I never told anyone that I would like to go somewhere else. I really don't know why someone is always making up stories about me.
"I told one journalist that I was sad because I couldn't show more of what I can do in a Wigan shirt, but I really want to stay in England and at Wigan.
"I haven't spoken to coach Roberto Martinez yet, but I think we will sit down in the next few days. I feel happy at Wigan, so I hope we will still be able to work together next season."
