Wigan Athletic are being linked with DR Congo striker Tresor Mputu.

Mputu had trials at Arsenal last month and has just seen his agents pull the plug on talks with Standard Liege.

Standard had a fee agreed with Mputu's club, Mazembe, but the striker's agents see his future elsewhere. Wigan have been mentioned as a potential destination for the prolific forward.
