Wigan Athletic are lining up a deal for PSV Eindhoven defender Carlos Salcido.
The Latics are resigned to the fact the Honduran left-back Maynor Figueroa will leave for either Liverpool or Stoke and Roberto Martinez wants to replace him with the Mexico international.
Reports suggest that 30-year old Salcido has had a falling out with PSV boss Fred Rutten and may be allowed to leave for the cut-price of £2million.
