Wigan keeper Kirkland refuses to moan about playing second fiddle

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland won't moan about losing his first-choice status at the DW.

Kirkland had a horror start to the season as the Latics shipped 10 goals in their first two home matches this term.

He missed the next game through injury, Ali Al-Habsi kept a clean sheet at Spurs - and the on-loan Bolton stopper has retained his place since.

Kirkland, 29, said: "Ali came in and did great and I had no arguments. I couldn't go to the manager and say I'd been playing well.

"There's only myself to blame and I just have to get back to it."
