Wigan Athletic keeper Ali Al Habsi has agreed a three-year deal with soccer equipment brand Sondico, reports SportsPro. The Oman international will wear Sondico gloves in the Premier League after agreeing terms with its UK and Europe licensee dbxsports. He will also play a role in the promotion and development of new Sondico products.
The 30-year-old Al-Habsi said: "I'm extremely proud and excited to follow in so many great goalkeepers' footsteps and be part of the relaunch of such an iconic goalkeeping brand. I can't wait to try out my new gloves in the best league in the world."
David Baxter, product and marketing director for dbxsports, said: "Ali is a fantastic goalkeeper and it's great news that he'll be starting the 2012/2013 season wearing our gloves. We hope our unique design and features will help him continue to perform at the high level he's fast becoming renowned for."
