Wigan hoping to retain Man Utd's Powell

Wigan Athletic are hoping they can re-sign Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell on loan.

The 20-year old has impressed for the Latics this season in the Championship, FA Cup and Europa League which has prompted manager Uwe Rosler to seek a loan extension for 2014/15.

Powell has helped Wigan into the promotion playoffs in England's second tier this term and Rosler is keen for him to return to DW Stadium either on another loan or on a permanent deal.

The former Crewe Alexandra star has attracted interest from Swansea City and Norwich City but Wigan have held talks with United regarding the possibility of taking him again for next season according to the Daily Mail.
