Wigan Athletic are determined to sign goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi permanently but are worried he may be too expensive.
The Oman international spent the season on loan with the Latics from Bolton and Roberto Martinez is hoping to bring him to the DW Stadium for £3million but it seems as though the Trotters are holding out for £5m.
Martinez was maintaining a realistic stance on Al Habsi's future at Wigan, saying that if Bolton do not agree on a price then they will search elsewhere.
"Our priority, of course, would be to keep Ali, but if we have to move for another player in that position then that's what we'll do," said Martinez.
"We'll continue to work as hard as we can to do a deal, but sometimes you cannot achieve things unless there is more of an input from one of the other parties to the original agreement.
"Ali has made it clear he'd love to carry on his time with us, and we'd love to keep him, but we'll have to wait and see."
