Wigan Athletic supporters have hit out at Manchester City after claims hundreds of fans were left locked out of the Etihad Stadium due to huge ticket queues, reports the Manchester Evening News. Visiting supporters were able to pay for tickets at turnstiles in a move widely advertised by City ahead of the Capital One Cup clash on Tuesday but some only gained access after half-time.

The club declined to comment.
