Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan faces a battle to win the race for Swansea City manager Roberto Martinez.
The Daily Mail says along with the Latics, Celtic and Real Sociedad are also chasing the 35 year-old Spaniard.
The bookmakers have installed Martinez as the odds-on favourite for both the Celtic and Wigan posts but sources stress that the Parkhead club still have a handful of other possible targets in their sights.
The bill to recruit Martinez, who still has three years remaining on his contract with Swansea, could come close to £1.25 million.
