Wigan Athletic and James McClean are now discussing personal terms after Sunderland accepted their bid for the winger.
Latics chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that the Black Cats are on the verge of selling the Irishman who looks set to make the move to the DW Stadium.
"We have got to have discussions with his agent but we have agreed a fee with Sunderland and the lad is here talking to us now," Whelan told Sky Sports News.
"At present we are managing to hold onto everybody and we are just in the process of signing another new player (McClean)."
