Wigan Athletic defender Gary Caldwell admits he partied with Burnley players after they won promotion last season.
Now the Scot hopes to send them a step closer to going back down today.
He said: "I was a massive Burnley fan for that play-off final. I really enjoyed it, seeing Steve lift the cup at Wembley - it was a great day for our family."
After a bright start to Premier League life, including victory over Manchester United, Burnley sit in the relegation zone with just one win in their last 19 league games.
But Wigan are only three places and four points above them.
And Caldwell added: "I want to win on Saturday - simple as that. I can't have any emotional ties, I want to win and make sure Wigan are safe, that's all I'm bothered about.
"But after this game I hope Burnley get as many wins as possible and stay up."
