Wigan Athletic defender Antolin Alcaraz has received a three-match ban for spitting on Wolves' Richard Stearman.
The incident occurred during the match at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday, which Wolves won 3-1, and he was charged by the Football Association for misconduct.
Alcaraz has accepted the FA ban of three matches and will also receive punishment from the Latics.
"Paraguay defender Antolin Alcaraz has accepted the FA's misconduct charge for spitting following the incident at the end of Sunday's Barclays Premier League match against Wolves, which carries an automatic three-match ban," read a statement from Wigan.
"The matter will be treated with the utmost seriousness and be dealt with internally, according to the club's code of conduct."
