Wigan Athletic are worried that manager less Aston Villa will come in for their boss Roberto Martinez so are set to offer him a new deal.
The Spaniard is highly-rated by Wigan and the club is determined to retain him for as long as they can. He has just 12 months remaining on his current deal and are set to offer him a three-year extension.
"Clearly Roberto will be linked with other jobs because of how well he's done here, but we all want him to stay for many years," said chief executive Jonathan Jackson.
