Wigan Athletic want to sign West Brom left-back Paul Robinson on a pay-as-you-play contract.

The Mirror says Latics had agreed to sign the tough left-back, 28, from Albion for the £2million asking price.

But a back problem has left Wigan boss Chris Hutchings seeking a deal with get-out clauses.
