The player has now confirmed on his personal website that he will be allowed to join up with Wigan.
He has signed a two-year contract extension with Zamalek until 2012 and the club have agreed to his loan move to England with an option to make the deal permanent.
Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas told the Egyptian press: "Wigan will pay a loan fee of £1,250,000 with an option to sign the player at the end of the loan period for an agreed transfer fee less the amount already paid by Wigan to Zamalek.
"Wigan Athletic also agree to pay the amount of £500,000 to Zamalek if the player scores 10 Premier League goals for Wigan during the loan spell."
