Wigan Athletic are prepared to sell Maynor Figueroa at the end of the season.
The Daily Mail says Wigan chairman Dave Whelan says he won't prevent Figueroa leaving for 'a good club' despite the Honduras international signing a new contract on Friday.
Figueroa was upset this week after a meeting over his future with Roberto Martinez failed to materialise.
Sunderland made an inquiry for him and Wigan suspected he was angling to leave.
Whelan said: "We are a good club and I have told him if another good club makes us an offer in the summer I will not stand in his way."
